In its most recent annual report on the Mental Health Act, the Care Quality Commission has again stated its concern about the lack of understanding of the MCA on mental health wards. The book Working with the Mental Health Act by two directors of Edge Training provides an answer to this problem. It is unique in how it incorporates information on the application of the MCA to people detained under the MHA. Each detention section of the MHA includes within it information on how the MCA could and should be used.
