Safeguarding Adults and the Office of the Public Guardian

The Office of the Public Guardian has recently published its annual report. It provides a range of information on the work of the OPG including the fact that it carried out 3,647 safeguarding investigations of LPAs or deputies following safeguarding concerns being reported to them.

The OPG has a 70 working days target to complete safeguarding investigations. This year however the average time taken was 93 days and the OPG is working to reduce this.
