Following the Panorama programme about the mistreatment of people at the Edenfield Centre (mental health unit), the Equality and Human Rights Commission has written to the Chief Executive of the NHS Trust concerned.
The Commission reference their framework for restraint guidance as a reference point for ensuring any restraint meets human rights standards. The framework can be downloaded from here.
