On 9 September 2021, the Norfolk Safeguarding Adults Board published a report on the deaths of three patients at a private learning disability hospital. Joanna, Ben and Jon were all in their 30s. All of them were being kept at the hospital under the Mental Health Act. A series of damning CQC inspection reports between November 2018 and March 2021 resulted in the hospital closing in May this year. Too late for Joanna, Ben and Jon. The two owners and directors of the hospital also own and run 12 care homes for people with learning disabilities one of which was recently rated inadequate by the CQC.
We have produced a special slide pack that provides details of the case.
