Tam Gill

Tam is a mental health solicitor, with a specialism in forensic mental health law. She has been ranked in Chambers & Partners as a Band 1 lawyer for mental health since 2019 and was Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year for Disability Rights in 2024. Tam is actively involved with stakeholders and organisations regarding developments in the field of mental health law and practice including responding to consultation processes on behalf of representative bodies. Tam also holds the role of a Law Society Mental Health Scheme assessor. Tam was appointed as a fee paid judge of the First tier Tribunal (Mental Health) in 2021.  She regularly delivers interactive and highly regarded training in mental health law and practice to mental health practitioners including lawyers, psychiatrists and nursing staff, and has been a visiting lecturer at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
