Updated NHS Guidance 'Staying safe from suicide'

All AMHPs and mental health professionals should be aware of this updated guidance on suicide and safety.  View the guidance HERE.

Published in April and updated in June 2025, it warns against using stratification tools such as 'high', 'medium' and 'low' and blanket approaches to suicide risk assessment.

Instead, if looks at the need to offer a more relational approach, working collaboratively with people to foster realistic hope.
