Parliament passed new statutory regulations on Tuesday around Covid-19 measures including visiting care homes. The regulations are explained in new DHSC guidance on visiting care homes. The guidance states:
•every care home resident can nominate up to 3 visitors who will be able to enter the care home for regular visits (this number does not include essential care givers or preschool age children)
•the duration of visits should not be limited if safe visiting practices can be maintained
•visits should take place in a room most practical and comfortable for the resident
