Following the Safeguarding Adults Review for three people with learning disability who died whilst detained under the Mental Health Act at a private learning disability hospital (Jeesal Cawston Park), the National Director of Mental Health, Learning Disability & Autism NHS England and NHS Improvement has published a letter explaining actions they are taking in response. All three people were placed at the hospital and funded by the NHS.
Although the hospital is now closed, the two owners and directors that ran it continue to own and run 12 care homes for people with learning disabilities. Download the letter below.
