Sarah Cannell is a social work team manager and an AMHP. She has wide experience within the field of child psychiatry in forensic work, child care assessments and working with young people with severe mental health problems. She co-ordinates a specialist CAMHS AMHP service for South London and Maudsley Foundation Trust offering consultation, specialist assessment and advice regarding the detention of young people under the Mental Health Act and is the safeguarding lead professional for National and Specialist CAMHS services. She also co-ordinates interest groups working with young people subject to detention under the Act. She is a specialist lay member of the Mental Health Tribunal.
