Sandwell Community Caring Trust CQC rating inadequate



On 14 September, a domiciliary care provider (and charity) for 150 people with learning disabilities or people with a physical disability was rated inadequate after concerns about the failure to use the MCA were raised triggering a CQC inspection. The report states: ‘We found decisions had been made on behalf of people who lacked capacity without the principles of the MCA having been followed. This included using surveillance equipment and administering medicines covertly. The management team had limited knowledge of MCA and the process of how decisions should be made for people who lacked capacity.
