Winsome Levy

Prior to coming to becoming a barrister, Winsome worked as a Probation Officer and Forensic Mental Health Social Worker (ASW) in London. Winsome was called to the Bar in 2003. She completed pupillage at Garden Court Chambers (formerly 2 Garden Court) and then worked for a specialist mental health solicitor’s firm as a consultant. Winsome has worked with Kent Community Health NHS Trust as the Trust Lawyer. She re-joined the independent bar and set up as a Sole Practitioner Barrister at Tupwood Chambers.
Winsome represents individuals, local authorities & health trusts and has worked with the Official Solicitor. Winsome’s practice areas are Adult Social Care, Mental Capacity – Court of Protection, Mental Health, Inquests, Professional Misconduct, School admissions and appeals

Winsome was a Specialist member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal for 16 years and Chair/Panel member of the Nursing Midwifery Council, Misconduct Panel. She is a lay member of the Police Misconduct Panel for West Midlands Police.
